Here’s our accessible technology statement for elearning and the details of who to contact if you have questions.

We believe that elearning has an important role in building an inclusive work culture and extending development opportunities to people with disabilities. In our elearning approaches, we aim to follow A level of the WCAG 2.1 standards and we encourage our clients to share this goal. We can design to AA level if needed, so talk with our team during the briefing stage about what accessibility level you’re designing to. This covers Digital Training Academy, Digital Strategy Consulting, and our affiliated services.

What does it mean?

The guidance covers the full detail of how pages work from an accessibility perspective. Here are a few of the ways we aim to work:

  • Use authoring approaches based on HTML5 with text content accessible to screen readers and supporting keyboard navigation.
  • Ensure all non-textual elements have a text equivalent (such as transcripts for audio or video, captioning, “alt text” for images and Aria labels).
  • Design elearning templates with an emphasis on colour contrast, logical page structure, and consistency of navigation/interface.
  • Ensure broad browser compatibility and supporting zooming without loss of functionality or the need for horizontal scrolling.
  • You can find the full details here…

Assistive technologies

Our standard elearning supports the gov.uk specified assistive technologies: JAWS v15+, NVDA 2016+ and Voiceover 7+ screen readers, Zoomtext magnifier and Dragon Naturally Speaking 11+ voice control software.

Client courses

When we’re creating courses for other organisations, we’ll create to the specifications that are in the brief. Content for our clients follows their standards of design, interface and accessibility. So if you have questions about one of the programmes we’ve authored in your organisation, then simply talk with your learning and development team in the usual way.
