Discover.film, the home to the world’s best quality, ‘short’ movies and entertainment goes live on Mi Video, Xiaomi’s global video platform in Europe with global rollout planned throughout 2020-21.

discover.film the leading streaming platform for quality short movies and entertainment was selected by Xiaomi, the global technology leader with smartphones and smart hardware connected by an Internet of Things (IoT) platform at its core, to be its quality ‘shorts’ entertainment provider for its premium video platform Mi Video in Europe.

discover.film is the home to the world’s best ‘short’ movies delivering curated channels of quality entertainment featuring performances from Hollywood stars and emerging talent. Actors such as Danny DeVito, Sir Ian McKellen, Olivia Coleman, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jack Whitehall, Bill Nighy, Brie Larson and Whoopi Goldberg feature in some of the award-winning ‘cinema standard’ movies. Genres include ‘feel good’ comedies, documentaries, drama, animation, horror and sci-fi all typically between 10-15 minutes in duration. Every movie is optimised for mobile but available to watch anytime, anywhere and on any internet connected device.

This partnership will see the discover.film app integrated into Mi Video, Xiaomi’s global video platform as a pre-installed app onto over 10 million handsets in Spain and France, then Italy and Germany by the end of this year. It will launch as AVOD so that Xiaomi video users can enjoy the world’s best quality ‘short’ movies from global and award-winning filmmakers all for free.

The cinema-quality content is optimised for mobile viewing but can be watched, streamed, Chromecast or downloaded straight to any internet connected device so that the user can experience the best quality, bite size entertainment wherever they are and whenever they want and on any device.
