Following the launch of its ‘Universal Analytics’ tool, Google is now offering an upgrade tool for standard users to transfer their data to the new cross-platform suite.

The two-step upgrade involves a new tool found in the admin section of all Google Analytics accounts.
Clicking the blue “Transfer” button starts a 24-48 hour process. When that’s over, upgrading the tracking code on all websites completes the transfer and opens the website to all of the features of Universal Analytics.
Google has also updated its tag manager in analytics with Auto-Event Tracking, which lets users measure events happening on the page without writing HTML or Javascript. This puts the power of event tracking in the hands of all users.
Meanwhile, Google Analytics Certified Partner LunaMetrics has created a plugin ‘Directmonster’, which helps website owners track social media referrer information.
