Transport for London (TfL) has struck partnerships with several major retailers to bring click and collect services to the London Underground network.
The move follows the beginning of a six month trial in November with Asda to offer grocery click and collect at six station car parks.
The TFL said that it had now reached an agreement with Tesco, as well as with upmarket peer Waitrose and automated parcel Locker Company InPost.
According to TfL’s statement, Tesco and Waitrose will each install click-and-collect facilities at up to six stations, while InPost will install lockers at three.
Tesco will open its shops in February at tube stations in Osterly, Newbury Park, Rayners Lane, Finchley Central, Arnos Grove and Cockfosters. The locations for Waitrose will be announced over the coming months but it was confirmed that they will follow Asda into car park sites.
Andrew Yaxley, Tesco Managing Director for London, said: “Our customers really enjoy the convenience of Click & Collect because it makes shopping so much easier.”
