As we get closer to one of the most loved, and dreaded days of the year, brands are thinking about how to capitalise on loved up shoppers. Research by Google shows there is 60% rise in mobile consumers who reach for their mobiles to shower their partners with gifts.


To help marketers make the most of the opportunity, Google has created an infographic to show how people are searching for Valentine’s gifts – here are some main stats:
· Ensure brands are female/gay friendly as there were 4x more searched for boyfriend gift than girlfriend gifts.
· Capitalise on marriage. 83% of under 35’s will search how to anything on YouTube.
· 83% of people connect with consumers on YouTube before proposing
