Amazon is planning on reporting an Android-powered game console by the end of the year, rivalling Google, Ouya and Nvidia, according to a news report.
Game Informer reports that Amazon is planning the launch by Black Friday which falls on November 29, 2013.
Reportedly, the console will come with a dedicated controller and Amazon is planning to sell the already known Android-based game titles on its very own marketplace.
The company will offer games on freemium model which will help it further promote its device as well as its marketplace.
Amazon is known as a popular online retail store and also for gadgets like Kindle tablets and e-bookreaders. In the gaming world, it will face tough competition from already established players like Microsoft, Sony, and others.
Earlier Google was also reported to be prepping to enter this segment and is rumored to be working on an OUYA-like gaming console.
Recently Nvidia also started shipping its Android-based portable gaming console called Shield after a month long delay.
