We also look back on the World Cup – where let’s face it England didn’t do quite so well! – but with footie addicts worldwide logging on it left our friends at Yahoo calling it the “first Internet World Cup”. All of which reminded me of a site called FootballWorldCup.com that I set up and ran at The Telegraph back in the nineties. Its entire traffic? Slightly less than one day on the Yahoo! Football pages.
