The campaign’s launch film stars Freddie Flintoff, a cricketer who transcends popular culture, singing and dancing to the sound of Imagine Dragon’s ‘On top of the world’, inviting the public to join ‘sports greatest carnival’.
The campaign continues the marketing approach of putting fans, influencers and celebrities at the heart of the creative, resonating with the 1 billion cricket fans around the world as well as reaching outside of the game to engage new fans with the sport. The campaign celebrates the wonderful diversity of cricket, celebrating the 10-competing nation’s coming together on the greatest stage, where uniquely in multi-cultural Britain, each has strong home support.
The media activation for the campaign which was developed by MATTA, will be delivered by Threepipe, appointed by the Cricket World Cup 2019 following a highly competitive pitch.
Threepipe will be activating the media strategy for the campaign across both Online and Offline channels across the UK.
Farhad Koodoruth, Co-Founder, Threepipe: “This is one of the biggest and highest profile agency wins to date and we are excited to be part of it all. This really builds on our successful work in supporting domestic and international cricket in the UK which has given us great insight into forming the right media strategy for this coming world cup.”
ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 Marcomms & Ticketing Director Adrian Wells said: “Threepipe’s experience in working with other sports governing bodies to promote tournaments and their in-depth knowledge of the cricketing audience stood them apart.
