Kin + Carta’s Athens office will be a full-service delivery hub for existing and new clients across mainland Europe and the UK, running the gamut of technology, data and experience with everything from creative assets and tech development to management consultancy.
The business is actively recruiting local talent to bolster the launch team made up of existing Kin + Carta staff, with delivery lead Thanos Gkavos as the founding member of the Greek leadership team.
His previous roles include senior product portfolio and programme manager stints for brands including Tesco and Macmillan Cancer Support.
The Athens hub currently has fifteen engineering roles open, with an aspiration to grow the headcount to between forty and fifty staff in the immediate future.
“Scaling up our pan-European offer in a meaningful and impactful way, with our clients, is embedded in our growth strategy,” says David Tuck, CEO at Kin + Carta Europe. “We know this move aligns with their own hybrid working policies and growth plans. We’ve seen many of our people return to their home countries and continue to work remotely very successfully during the pandemic, so we have teams in and around Europe already set up and ready to go.”
“There has never been a more exciting time to join the tech industry – the opportunity for the digital talent pool is incredible. With a more distributed workforce post-pandemic, it makes sense for us to flex our hybrid working policy to ensure our distributed teams can thrive wherever they are.”
Gkavos adds: “We’re adapting as a business, and the same goes for our talent attraction strategy. Greece is my homeland, so I’m proud to spearhead this new venture. I can’t wait to start building out the new hub from a territory that I know is bursting with untapped talent.”
Kin + Carta currently employs 1,600 people of 42 nationalities across Europe and the Americas. The Greek office is in line with global growth plans that have seen Kin + Carta acquire Spire Digital, a Denver-based digital transformation business, and Cascade Data Labs, an Oregon-based data science company.
Tuck concludes: “Our growth plan in Europe is being driven organically, partly through opening exciting new delivery hubs in cities like Athens, as well as through acquisition. Watch this space on the latter.”
Kin + Carta Greece extends the network in mainland Europe and follows the opening of Kin + Carta’s innovation hub in Amsterdam in December 2019.
