Online advertising is soaring in Russia, with the medium now second behind TV and ahead of print, according to research.
The data, from AKAR (the Association of Communications Agencies of Russia), indicates that in 2012, online advertising generated 56.3 billion rubles (approximately $1.76 bn), compared to television’s 143.2bn (~$4.49 bn).
Meanwhile, print advertising stagnated with an anorexic growth of just 2% to reach 41.2 billion rubles, down from the previous year’s growth rate of 6%.
