Struggling social network Bebo is looking to turn around its fortunes with a free new video messaging app called Blab.

The tool lets users record videos and instantly send them to their friends via their mobile device, in a similar way to apps such as Snapchat.
Recipients do not even have to have the Blab app installed, as videos can also be sent via SMS.
Shaan Puri, CEO of Monkey Inferno, the firm behind the revival of Bebo, stated: “Rather than come back as a clunky social network, full of complicated features, we wanted to make an app that was simpler, doing one cool thing really really well.”
He noted that simple communication tools are still the “killer app” for smartphones and Blab promises to make this “incredibly user-friendly”.
