The money will go to International Medical Corps, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, and Save the Children.
The social netowrk has set up the button in partnership with the non-profit organisation NetHope.
Facebook is also donating and deploying 100 satellite communication terminals to boost internet and phone services to affected areas in west Africa.
The programs come on the heels of a $25 million (£16m) donation last month by Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan, to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention toward the Ebola response.
The Ebola donation button will stay in place for a week.
Money raised will go to the International Medical Corps, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, and Save the Children.
Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg announced the Ebola donation button with a video on his own profile page, saying “I want to make sure Facebook does its part to help fight Ebola.”
