LinkedIn lets users share own videos

LinkedIn has launched a new video feature, letting its 23 million UK members to record, upload and share their own video content on the platform.

LinkedIn members will be able to use the new video capability via the mobile app, by selecting the new video icon in the share box at the top of the feed (iOS) or the post button (Android).

Once video content has been recorded or uploaded and is ready to post, users can add a caption and choose whether they want to share their video publicly or just with their connections.

Users will be able to see who their videos reach on LinkedIn – with audience insights such as the top companies, titles and locations of their viewers, as well as how many likes, shares, comments, views and re-shares their videos are receiving. This will help users to better understand if they’re reaching the people and companies they want their video content to target.

“LinkedIn is the world’s largest online professional community and everyday millions of professionals, influencers and marketers use the platform to keep up to date with industry news and share their views and opinions. With the native video feature, members can go beyond written content, recording and publishing their own videos to further engage their networks,” says Tom Pepper, UK Head of LinkedIn Marketing Solutions.
