The BEUC, The European Consumer Organisation in Brussels gives here an overview of the types of very personal digital data profiles we leave behind. These profiles are now being used as a commodity for purchase and sale without our knowledge. As the BEUC’s main task is to defend the interests of all Europe’s consumers, they have laid out several directives that they feel the EU should act on to help protect consumer’s digital data and provide online privacy guidelines for marketers.
