As part of its review of the year, Yahoo has compiled more than 30 lists of popular searches broken down by specific questions, obsessions, news items, sports teams, comeback fads, political figures, music tours and weddings… even featuring a round-up video from the Anchorman himself, Ron Burgundy.
Here San Diego’s classiest gentlemen – joined by Champ Kind and Brian Fantana – reporting on the most popular search terms in Yahoo’s Year In Review.
Yahoo’s annual Year in Review study that looks back at the daily search habits of its users, with singer (and notorious twerker) Miley Cyrus taking the top spot as most searched for phrase, followed by Kim Kardashian, and American model Kate Upton. Minecraft and Apple’s iPhone 5 are the only two technology-related queries to make it into the top 10.

The company says that the emergence of new smartphones, wearable technology, and apps have contributed to increased technology queries. While not listed, Yahoo says that searches on “how to take a screenshot”, “how to install Skype for free”, “what is a hashtag?”, and “how to create a website” were quite popular this year.
