Amazon is offering free tools to let developers better understand how users are interacting with their Android apps distributed by the online retailer.

The Engagement Reports include data for daily and monthly active devices, installs, sessions, ARPU and retention. Each report can be filtered by marketplace, viewed as a chart or downloaded as an CSV.
Engagement Reports can be found in the ‘Reporting’ tab on the Mobile App Distribution Portal and are available for apps submitted and published after 25 October 2012.
Developers with apps published before that date will need to republish or update their apps to be able to access the analytics tools.
The reports include data from the Kindle Fire and Kindle Fire HD tablets and Android devices that use the latest version of Amazon Appstore.
