The educational whitepaper is aimed at helping brands to choose the right path when designing and developing mobile tech and apps.

Below are some of the key findings:
· Design
o We view and touch screens differently. 49% use one thumb, 36% use index finger & 15% use two thumbs – this shows natural active areas for each consumer group.
o Responsive design is key – 74% of mobile sites use a responsive design, which allows flexibility, one code set and fluid images.
· Product:
o Mobile Websites and WebApps capture the most casual sales from search and social but least service and engagement
o Native Apps / Hybrid Apps develop the most repeat sales, service/retention and engagement of consumers
o Widgets and notifications show the best results for re-engagement – surface content and make consumer interact
· Development
o Biggest thing that prevents mobile developers using HTML5 is performance issues and limited access to hardware API’s
· Google’s new performance model RAIL (Response, Animation, Idle, Load) integrates all aspects of performance problems and integration to keep a consumer happy through their journey.
