The Ad Pano is a premium Ads in Apps solution for Windows 8, which combines the principles of a ‘hero app’ experience with Microsoft’s technology.
The format lets marketers customise their ad experience to deliver an interactive ad experience ‘comparable to a magazine fold-out’.
Currently available in the US and UK, with additional markets on the horizon, the Ad Pano is also the first ad format available on Windows 8 to offer an optional active anchor ad experience, which comes to life with a series of 15 images that can stimulate video, similar to a flip-book.
This can be can be scaled across all first-party apps for Windows 8 – including Bing, Xbox, and Skype – and apps that integrate the Microsoft Advertising SDK for Windows 8.
Microsoft has also unveiled a new wave of prototypes for Windows 8 Ads in Apps developed with some of the world’s best media and creative agencies – BMB, Razorfish, Rooster Worldwide, UM, and VML – and five brands – All Saints Clothing, Mercedes-Benz USA, Vans Shoes, MasterCard and Dell.
Further details about the launch can be found in Jennifer Creegan’s, General Manager of the Display Advertising Experiences Business Group at Microsoft, blog post here.
More information about the new co-ideation Ads in Apps prototypes can be found in Stephen Kim, Vice President for Global Agencies & Accounts at Microsoft, blog post here.
