Sony has unveiled its latest smartphone, the Xperia Z, as the technology giant looks to rival Apple and Samsung in the smartphone wars. The device, unveiled at technology trade show CES 2013, has a large 5-inch screen and is powered by Android. Key features include a full HD Reality Display with the same technology as Sony’s television line; a 13-megapixel camera; a dust- and water-resistant chassis; an antiscratch coating; and a quad-core processor.

The Xperia Z is waterproof, able to be dunked into water at least three feet deep without sustaining damage. If an iPhone user wants the same, they will have to spend roughly $70 on a case.
The phone can also interact with Sony TVs and audio systems.
