Amazon has introduced a monthly Amazon Prime subscription option that will see buyers receive goods within two days for $7.99 a month. Instead of $79 per year, customers in the US can now choose to pay $7.99 per month. Amazon Prime membership lets users stream movies and TV shows from the Prime Instant Video library, and gives free two-day shipping on most items, and offers other perks.
The new payment option also intensifies a rivalry with Netflix, which charges the same price for monthly subscriptions to its streaming video service.
