In a bid to get searchers using its other products, such as Google Play, Drive and Maps, the firm has also added an app launcher to the main Google navigation bar.
The tool is similar to Google’s existing app launcher from Android devices and Chromebook computers.
To reveal other products – such as Google Drive storage, YouTube videos or the Android app Play Store – visitors must now click on an icon made up of small squares.
The revamp marks the first change to Google’s logo since 2010. The new-look logo uses a new colour palette with slightly altered letters and a ‘flatter’ look (see below).

The new features will be integrated with most of its products over the next few weeks, Google said in a blog post.
“Once you’re inside an app, you don’t want any distractions. So we are introducing an updated Google bar that streamlines your experience across products and devices,” Google noted in the blog post.
Google says the new logo and the app launcher/nav bar change will be rolling out over the next couple weeks on most Google products.
