Pinterest, an online pinboard that lets people share images and interests, is starting to attract attention in the UK after soaring in popularity in the US. This infographic, from MDG Advertising, looks at who is using Pinterest, how to make it work for you, and why it has become the second most engaging social network on the planet behind Facebook.


The infographic below, supplied by US ad agency MDG Advertising indicates that women make up a staggering 87% of the Pinterest audience, with an even spread across age groups between 25-54.
In terms of time spent, Pinterest comes joint second alongside Tumblr according to comScore. Facebook is far ahead of the pack, accumulating an average of 405 minutes per month of each users time. (Source: The Wall Street Journal)

2. Pinterest and Tumblr are equal in second place at 89 minutes
3. Twitter comes in third at 21 minutes
4. LinkedIn – 17 minutes
