Overview
Runners have been the work experience ways-in to the media industry for decades and this short term work experience placement (1-6 weeks) will give an energetic internet or marketing enthusiast the opportunity to gain insight into the world of digital media and marketing, and its important and evolving role in the professional and commercial landscape. You’ll be helping a team of digital strategists in Covent Garden who work on world-famous brands. This is an unpaid role but travel expenses will be covered.


Typical tasks include
This work experience placement will be varied and diverse in the sorts of things you might end up doing and could include this sort of thing:
– Running errands in Covent Garden like printing training material or supplies for clients
– Researching online to find material for case studies of brands that are doing seriously cool stuff on the web (and those that aren’t!)
– Writing – if you’re good at it and you enjoy it, you could even be writing some of these case studies yourself
– Online research into what and how our clients are using the web – we need to know everything about what our clients are doing online including YouTube, Facebook, Vimeo, Twitter, etc. We might ask you to do some thorough research into what they are putting out there to help us understand what they’re doing well and which areas need improvement
– Collating feedback from client training workshops
– Proofing material
– Generally helping out whenever needed!
Key competencies
• Enthusiasm
• ‘Can-do’ attitude and always happy to get stuck in and help others
• Hard-working and have good attention to detail
• A regular user of social media
• Polite and confident at communicating with people at all work levels
• Some experience using Microsoft Power Point, Word and Excel would be good
• Good academic results or predictions
