Twitter is considering hiring a sales force to make money from advertising, as the micro-blogging service notches up its 5 billionth tweet. Speaking at the Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco, Twitter chief executive Evan Williams said there are a large number of companies interested in working with Twitter to promote brands. “We are optimistic about revenue,” Williams said. “I can’t tell you want the mode is.” Williams also hinted he wants to get rid of Twitter’s internally-created Suggested User List (SUL) in favour of user-created lists.Twitter recently crossed the 5 billion tweets barrier with a Twitter user Robert Sloan managing to post the tweet numbered 5000000000. Twitter’s top five growth areas are Britain, Brazil, Indonesia, Japan and the United States.
