More than two thirds (70%) of SnapChat’s audience are female, with the number of photos shared on the app doubling to 400 million a day, according to a news report.
By comparison, Facebook users share approximately 350 million photos per day, but this number doesn’t include Instagram shares or video uploads.
Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel shared the breakdown, along with a few other metrics, at a closed-door conference hosted by Goldman Sachs in Las Vegas.
Snapchat did not share the size of its total user base and currently has no revenue, but Spiegel said the company is in no hurry to make money from advertisers. “There are a lot of things in our product that make it appealing for advertisers, but we want to do it right,” Spiegel told a packed room at the Bellagio hotel in Las Vegas, according to the person who was present.
Spiegel added that Snapchat is looking to expand its team, and aims to offer the service in new languages, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Reports surfaced last week that Facebook offered $3 billion to acquire Snapchat, which Spiegel refused.
