Retail sites reached 84.5% of the online audience in France, making it the third biggest market in Europe in June 2013, after Germany and Russia, according to new research from comScore, looking at the top 10 French online retail sites of 2013.
As the second sales period in France is coming to a close, we looked at which sites had the most users during the month of June.
Kering, a local French retailer (previously PPR), attracted 14.8 million unique visitors last month, jumping ahead of Amazon into first position. Even though Cdiscount came in third with 10.4 million visitors in June 2013, it actually had the strongest growth amongst the top 3 in June 2013, with 22 percent more unique visitors than June last year.
When looking at engagement for the top 10 French online retail sites of 2013, the situation is different. Amazon clearly leads the ranking with 17 minutes spent per visitor, a 22 percent increase compared to June 2012. Oxylane (Décathlon) achieved the second strongest growth in engagement in France, with a 25 percent increase in time spent compared to the same month last year.
